How do I convince my parents to get a pool?

  1. caтy. says:

A pool is a huge investment! They cost a lot of money to install and maintain. I’m not sure if your talking about an in-ground pool, but if you are, they have to be built into your yard. You need to fence them, then pay money for maintenance, opening & closing your pool, cleaning it, making sure the PH levels are normal, heaters, and the concrete around the pool.

Saying "Oh I want a pool" isn’t like "Oh I want new clothes" because it is a longterm investment that costs a lot of money! Also, half an acre isn’t that large. If you do install a pool, you will not have much of a backyard left. Plus, keep in mind that you wouldn’t have your pool up and running until probably next summer. Then you’ll be going off to college in a few years and never be home, is that worth it?

If your talking about an above ground pool, they aren’t physically attractive and they can’t be heated. They are filled with a hose and if they aren’t constantly drained and refilled, they can turn green because the PH levels aren’t balanced.

If I were you, I’d look into the cost. Then I’d write something up to my parents saying the reasons as to WHY I want a pool and explain to them how it would be beneficial for both you, your parents, and any siblings. Also discuss safety issues and fencing.

Tell them your trying to get some simple *censored* pool action with the boys ;]

you are spoiled if you say "all we have is a freaking trampoline", most people dont even have that and dont expect their parents to buy them pools just so they can have pool parties. pools cost thousands of dollars to build and then hundreds to maintain every year, if you can pay for that on your own, then offer to pay for it, otherwise be happy with what you have.

Pools start out at $30,000. That’s not including the time energy or cost of maintenance. If you want an above ground pool, you can get a very Wal-mart one for around $500 but you still have to maintenance issues. If it’s that important to you, why don’t you sit down and talk with your parents and ask them if you were to come up with half the money if they would come up with the other half? I’d offer to do all the maintainers too. It’s worth a shot.

I want one too!! just keep nagging, it works wonders trust me.

  7. Amanda C says:

The fact is, you’re not rich and those things cost several thousands of dollars. Plus the maintence it requires. And how much water it takes to fill them…

You’re lucky, my mom works 3 jobs, I work, we don’t have money to spend on things like trampolines.

    You really are spoiled…

The only way to convince them is if you offer to pay for half of it and take care of cleaning it…
